WSJT-X error in sound input

Today I encountered an issue when starting WSJT-X that appeared completely out of nowhere, namely the error message 'error in sound input.'

It is very frustrating to face something like this because both the FlexRadio and Windows are essentially black boxes, making it challenging to find a solution.

Various solutions are listed online, ranging from RF-related issues to driver problems. The latter, replacing drivers, is a major step that I’d rather avoid.

After much searching and experimenting, I happened to come across the screen under 'Settings' -> 'Microphone.'

There, access was blocked. Enabling it resolved the issue.
